Ed Sernoski was a prominent wrestler with SFU, winning two NAIA championships at 150 lbs in 1986 and 1988, and was the runner-up in 1987. He won an NAIA team title with SFU in 1988.

Sernoski holds SFU's single season win record, dating from his 1988 season where he posted a 73-3 win-loss record. Sernoski also had a 60-5-1 season in 1987 at SFU and he went 40-8 in 1986.

Post-college Sernoski was a two-time Canadian national champion and would go on to compete at the 1989 World Championships for the Canadian National team. He was the 1987 Canada Cup Champion and was named the Sports BC University Athlete of the Year in 1988.
