During an impressive four year career at SFU, running back Sean Millington earned several SFU rushing records. In 1988, Millington became SFU's first 1,000-yard rusher, gaining 1,043 yards. In one memorable game in 1989, Millington rushed for 253-yards and three touchdowns, leading SFU to a 42-27 win over UBC in the Shrum Bowl. He earned NAIA National Player of the Week honours.

After university Millington played in the CFL for 12 years and twice earned the title of the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian award.  He is also a two-time Grey Cup winner as a member of the BC Lions, and in 2000 was named MVP of the 88th Grey Cup.

In 2010, Millington was inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame.
