Jeff Thue was 16 years old when he joined Regina’s Underdog Wrestling Club in 1984 and a year later became a provincial and national midget wrestling champion. Thue went on to become a three-time NAIA champion during his collegiate career and win an Olympic silver medal.

In 1991, Thue went 46-7 at SFU and won bronze medals at the 1991 Senior World Games, and at the 1991 Senior World Cup. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, 23-year-old Jeff Thue won a silver medal in the super-heavyweight category.

Thue is a member of the Saskatchewan Sports and Canadian Amateur Wrestling Halls of Fame
